Found something

Inkwell snuck silently through the castle hallways. It was late and the whole castle was overtaken by darkness. The only light was the moon that slightly illuminated the ground outside. 

However this did not bother Inkwell. He didn't need light as he knew where he was going, to the castle library. 
She hadn't told or showed him but he knew his mother had recieved a package from Canterlot containing some controversial books that needed to be looked over. She and Starlight often got packages like this. Books that needed to be determined weither or not they could be dangerous for the reader. 
Usually they wouldn't be anything too interesting but this time he had gotten a peek at one of the titles that caught his interest, "The creation of magic". 

It was a long shot that it would actually contain something usefull, but he felt like he needed to check just in case, he just couldn't let anyone know.

Upon reaching the library Inkwell reached into his saddle bag that he was carrying on his back. He pulled out a candle and lit it before walking up to the shelves. He pulled one of the books that he knew was really just a lever for a passage to the secret part of the library. The bookshelf right next to creaked open to reveal a small room containing more books.  
Not really secret he thought as he stepped inside. Twilight had multiple of these rooms around the castle, thinking that her son didn't know about them however she would be suprised at just how much he did know. 

He swiftly found the book he was looking for and hid it in his saddle bag. He then rushed out of the room, closed it, blew out the candle and hurried back to his quarters. 

Once there he locked the door tight and crept up into his reading corner. The crystals hanging from the ceiling lit up as he approached and before opening the book he tapped on the lantern also hanging down to turn it on. 
Now in the light he didn't hesitate to open up the book. 

Hours passed as he went through the chapters trying to find something to his interest whilst also making sure not to miss anything. 
When reaching a chapter in the middle of the book named "Summoning" his ears perked up. 

The more he read the more the gears in his head started turning.

Quickly he reached for some books laying to the side of him. All of them had bookmarks on various pages. He pulled out one of the books named "Diversity of Equestria" and quickly flipped through it. 

"yes" he whispered to himself as he got to the page he was looking for. 

He pulled out a quill and some parchment from his saddle bag and frantically started writing. This could work!

A little story for u guys. Been a while since I wrote one it feels. 
I'm going to be diving into Inkwell's story some more, just to get some variety from Honey and Riposte. 

What's purple pony prince up to? 
Maybe he's gonna bake cupcakes. 

No one in his family knows of his midnight reading, which he has started to do more and more as to not get any snooping ponies interupting him.

He also wears reading glasses sometimes when his brain is getting tired.
