Stuck in a Cave

The storm was quickly picking up and the blue pegasus soon found herself unable to see anything through the heavy rain, despite wearing her wonderbolts goggles. Swiftly she went in for a landing next to one of the volounteers down on the ground. Days had gone by since the young draconequus disappeared somewhere in the Everfree forest yet all of the ponies searching hadn't even found as much as a trace of the poor boy. It was like he had just vanished. 

Of course, Fluttershy's friends had been the very first to throw themselves out there to search for the boy, but some ponies from Ponyville had also volounteered. Like the brown, unicorn stallion waiting for Rainbow Dash on the ground.

"Did you see anything?" He quickly spat out, almost shouting as to be heared over the rain.

"No, nothing"

He had been out in the forest everyday and seemed almost overly concerned for the kid. Not that Rainbow was complaining, she just found it rather strange since he didn't even know any of the family members.

"We got to keep going!" He said and started marching just as the booming roar of thunder echoed overhead. 

Rainbow jumped slightly, happy that she wasn't in the air still. These Everfree storms were dangerous and unpredictable, much unlike the ones in Ponyville. She knew that getting struck by one of these lightning bolts was going to put you in the hospital, if not worse. 

"Oh no we don't!" She retorted spotting a small cave entrance close by. "Come on this way!" 

She gripped the stallions tail with her teeth and forcefully pulled him into the cave and away from the rain. It wasn't really safe to go look for the others in this weather and so she reasoned that they would just wait it out in the small shelter till they could all meet up later. 

"What are you doing? We need to be out there! We need to keep looking!" The nameless stallion was almost frantic and was just about to step out again when another loud boom could be heard and a flash of light blinded him for a split second. 

"We can't go out there! This weather isn't like Ponyville's, I cant just kick these stupid clouds out of the sky. If we get struck by that lightning, or get stuck underneath a falling tree, or just... whatever! We will be in real trouble out here, okay? So the best thing we can do is just to sit tight" Rainbow Dash tried her best to keep her calm and to explain the situation as she would to her impatient daughter, even though she did have an overwhelming urge to just throw him in a corner and ordering him to stay there. 

The stallion opened his mout as to respond just as another much louder crash could be heard straight above them. Before any of them could react a flood of rocks fell infront of the entrence blocking out what little light they had. 

Seconds passed in complete silence before the stallion finally used his horn to illuminate the cramped dark cave. After which he cursed and hissed as he threw himself att the thick wall, kicking and butting his horn at the rocks. 
Rainbow Dash stared in confusion at the stallion before she once again spoke. 

"What is up with you?" She was fed up by his strange behaviour and seemingly overattachement to the missing boy. "I've never even seen you around before and yet you completely start freaking out over everything. Who even are you?" 

He stopped as soon as she had said it. It was just like she had caught him with a lie and his whole body just froze. Slowly he turned towards her and sighed. 

"I... well... you have seen me before Rainbow Dash" His voice was low and barely audible. 

Confused she just stared at him as his horn lit up the cave even more and she had to look away. 

"What the-" as she opened her eyes again she could clearly see Discord's distinct facial features on the unicorn. "Discord? Why are you a unicorn?!"

"I couldn't let anypony know it was me" There was a hint of shame in his voice and the blue pegasus thought she knew why. "I just wanted my son to be safe" 

Discord had not been seen in a very, very long time. He had written, but never showed himself. Fluttershy was the last one to meet him, explaining how he was acting strange, and a few days later Angel's egg had been found outside of her cottage. The six friends didn't take long  to figure out some theories about this, yet hearing him confess it and proving them right felt unreal. Discord was Angel's father. 
A sea of questions swirled in the mare's head yet she couldn't focus on a single one to ask, meekly she only managed to utter a:

"What?"

Knowing what she was getting at he continued cautiously.

"I left him on Fluttershy's doorstep, I've been keeping an eye on him ever since yet I could never bring myself to actually show myself. I was to big of a coward to be there for my son" he stared down at the floor as he sat down.

Rainbow still didn't know how to respond to any of this, they all kind of knew but at the same time there had always been so many unanswered questions.

"But how did you- who is the mother?"

He looked at her slightly.

"it doesn't matter"

Instantly she recognized that look in his eyes. That hurt and extreme shame, the same things that she herself had felt for several years now.

"Do you mean? How does that even work? Fluttershy saw you just a few days earlier. How did you get the egg?" flabbergasted she just splurted out questions bombarding him with emotions he had never wanted to deal with.

Discord knew all about what had happened to Rainbow Dash and who Silver Lining's father actually was, it's really hard to keep secrets from this chaos demi-god, so he understood what she meant.

"To answer your questions; Yes, magic can do anything, me and Fluttershy did meet a few days earlier and... I'd rather not talk about it. Only thing I have to say is that magic can be one hell of a thing" The peculiar looking stallion hung his head yet perked up slightly as the pegasus suddenly sat down right next to him.

She said nothing, only sat there looking at the rock wall and listening to the rain still pouring down outside. Discord not knowing what to say either followed her lead. 

"Why didn't you tell anypony?" she finally asked. 

Silence. 

"Shame..."

Silence again. 

Neither of them spoke for several minutes, both deep in thought and just listening to the sound of the storm raging outside. 

Suddenly a sound could be heard inside the cave. It was Rainbow Dash, snorting and laughing slightly. 

"Look at us..." she said as she continued to laugh. "Who would have thought this huh? Equestrias best flier and the reformed demi-god of chaos sharing rape stories" 

Her laugh got a bit louder. Discord couldn't really understand her sudden burst of disturbed laughter yet it was somehow contagious as he chimed in. It sounded kind of pathetic when she put it like that. 
The both of them sat there for a while smiling slightly, listening to the rain outside the dimly lit cave. 

Discord turned his head to watch Rainbow Dash for a second only to notice that she had done the same. Sitting there, staring at each other for a long while, Rainbow suddenly swiftly leaned in to kiss him. Surprised, his eyes widened yet he quickly snapped out of it and kissed her back, laying a hoof around her. 



It was hard to say what was really going on in their heads, maybe it was just the security of having someone who understood you, maybe it was just some sort of strong impulse or perhaps a long overdue sudden calm and sense of control that had washed over them. Either way, one thing led to another and they ended up on the cave floor. Rainbow Dashe's wing lightly draped over the unicornified Discord. 

The rain seemed to have ceased outside, and the blue pegasus turned towards her current lover. 

"By the way, couldn't you just have turned back to that dragon thing you got going on and used your magicky powers to remove all of those rocks?"

A dumbfounded expression crept across his face as he simply uttered.

"I didn't even think about that"

Sooooooo, i'm trash. Complete and utter trash and a glutton for making poor ponies suffer. 

Just to clarify a bit, Rainbow Dash and Discord will not be a canon pair in my next gen, this was a one time thing for them. They are most likely never, ever going to mention it to any of their friends and will deny that anything ever happened. They are destined to only be friends, kind off. xD

I think it took longer for me to write the story than draw the pic  I need some sleep

Also I think most of you might have noticed that I have an extreme fascination with drawing a sketch on paper and then coloring it in photoshop, without removing the sketch. There is a simple explanation for that: I hate drawing lineart. It's probably what hell is composed by, endless and endless pictures that needs to have lineart drawn *shudders* 

Anyway I hope you enjoy, I tried some new type of shading yet I dont really know if I like it or not.
